Alternate Nichrome Soldering Technique
Here's another way to attach nichrome to the heater wire. You'll need:
- heater wire
- nichrome
- AWG 40 bare wire (e.g. wirewrap wire)
- solder
1. Strip insulation from both the heater wire and nichrome. Overlap the two so that half the bare section of each extends past the insulation of the other.
2. Take a short piece (roughly 120mm) of AWG 40 wire and wrap the overlapped section.
3. Fold over the exposed sections of the bare heater wire and nichrome.
4. Wrap the remaining AWG 40 wire around the folded over section.
5. Solder the joint.
