Is the layer height value specific to a given print and or is it Skeinforge and is used by every print?

After getting the board replaced by makerbot and flashed with firmware, I was printing happily for a few weeks. One day, I turned on my bot, and it couldn't find toolhead 0 again.

I've recently switched computers for using my Maker Bot, and I tried downloading the STL plugin for Sketch up and it doesn't seem to be there.
