I tried adding more shells and all that did was leave me with three shells worth of noodles in my holes. I'll try playing with infill more I guess.

I think if I could get the first layer to print right, the layers above it would have something to stick to and everything would be ok. As it is, the thread just pulls tight when the extruder moves. As part of it cools, it starts to bend at an angle instead of making circles. Maybe dropping my temp a degree or two could help, though I seem to be only slightly above that temperature where the layers bond and the extruder doesn't jam.

Are you squishing down the raft? I usually try (via messing with the pulley, right when it starts to print) to make raft lines at least twice as wide as they are tall..

Can you sum up the skeinforge settings you're using?

You may need to reduce your layer height to squash your lines of plastic a little more so that they stick to the previous layer better.
