Can I easily strip out a stepper? My Z axis is having difficulty. If I help the belt, it moves fine. but if I let the stepper do it alone it misses… I mean the motor is running but the belt moves about half the distance it should. Sounds like it's slipping inside the stepper.
It was moving with a little difficulty on my tests and first run. I could see the wobble in the pulleys on every revolution and it would slow down on each wobble. I've since evened them out but perhaps too late?
I tried loosening the idler pulleys but then the belt slips. So I don't think I had/have it too tight, I'm thinking it was difficult to start with and I may have damaged the stepper. I've only run the bot about 2 hours total. Is it possible I need to replace the Z motor???
Oh and I've used WD-40 and 3in1 oil on the rods.
