I was in the middle of normal Thing-O-Matic printing operations. When all of a sudden I noticed that a couple steps were skipped. So I restarted the print. Here is where the problem starts. When going to home, the X and Y axis struggle like they are not getting enough power. Sometimes Y will move back and forth a short ways like it is confused. Eventually it will all straighten out and get to the endstop. Then X and Y center fine. It will wait to reach temperature and then start building, but it will mess steps all over the place, X and Y will sound like they don't have enough power or are getting some kind of jumbled commands, because Y will move back and forth.
Here is what I have found out so far.
1. There is no binding happening, I can make both my X and Y move the full range by tipping the bot. Also, in control panel, the X and Y move individually fine the whole range. And another reason there is no binding going on, because the printer started doing this on X and Y at the same time.
2. I have tried old profiles, new profiles, tried and true profiles. I have tried default profiles. I have tried old gcode that I know is correct and I have tried generating new gcode. I have tried s3g's from my sd card that printed fine all week.
3. I have tried printing from the SD card and directly through USB, same thing happens.
4. I have tried every manner of resetting, including the reset button on the EC and the Motherboard. I have removed all power. I have reset replicatorG, I have reset my computer.
5. The driver I have selected is correct. I tried switching to the ABP driver too, it does the same thing.
6. I have tried reinstalling ReplicatorG.
7. I have reinstalled the firmware on both the EC and the Motherboard.
8. I have rechecked all the POT settings on the stepper drivers (even though it is very unlikely that X and Y would both all of a sudden switch to the wrong settings some how).
I am sure I tried a few other things too but can't remember to list them.
Any suggestions? This seems really strange to me.
