Help: new computer, TOM only 1 direction each axis

Hi all;
Don't know if this was answered before, but I had a fully functional Makerbot on first try on my home Win7 computer, but have had trouble getting it working on a WinXp Dell laptop (among others at work, long story. Right now, I only am able to send the controller of each axis in one direction, even when starting at the stops. Won't move in the other. Any suggestions?

In the motherboard preferences there is a setting for endstop type. Try changing that setting and see what happens. It sounds like the motherboard thinks you are at the endstop or you have the endstops in the wrong socket on the motherboard or you might have to invert the axis motion again in the control panel.

So again, there are 3 possible problems
Wiring
End stop type setting
Inverted axis setting

Many, many thanks Jetguy. It appears that changing the motherboard pref from Non-Inverted endstops to Inverted did the trick. Wow, that would have taken me a while to figure out!

Also, to be clear, the motherboard settings shouldn't have changed just becuase you installed and plugged the bot into another computer. It will get overwritten when you flash a new firmware upgrade-so be prepared in the future to go back and set this again after updates to firmware.
