Well, my second Mk5 TOM Mk5 extruder motor just gave up the ghost. So it's time that I sucked it up and actually did the upgrade to Mk6. I got one of the early Mk6 upgrade kits but haven't done more than open the box. Some questions:
1. I did a quick check and didn't see a set of instructions JUST for the Mk5 to Mk6 upgrade tasks. Question: Is there such a thing?
2. Presumably my original Mk 5 heating element extruder tip, etc. need not be changed — all the work is from there up, right?
3. Because I had my settings were pretty much perfect for the HUGE amount of printing I've been doing (I've run through FIVE 1kg reels of ABS since replacing my original Mk5 extruder motor with no problems), I haven't upgraded RepG from Rev 23. My understanding is I'm going to have to do do this. Is Rev 24 still the current Rev? I'm going to have to create all new settings, I suppose, right?
I'm sure I'll have more questions as I get into the process … Any help with this will be greatly appreciated, as I'e been happily cranking plastic at a prodigious rate for many months now and will likely have to go into a 12 step program if I can't get my bot working again this coming weekend …
