Yes, whenever the thermistor gets disconnected for any reason, the extruder controller reports 1024C to ensure the heater would turn off no matter what it was set to for safety. The only way to clear it once the thermistor is connected again is to power cycle the bot (because you can't reach the reset on the extruder controller.

Also, for those with the LCD interface-this condition looks false as a 24C not 1024 C but the heater will not heat-again this is really reporting 1024. Due to the 3 digit characters the "1" in 1024 is being left off.
