I've seen that many have a bug. In the future many may organize as part of support groups to curb the addiction. Many will mask the problem and symptoms as research and/or a new business. My reason (excuse) is that I'm trying to teach the kids ALL about life.
I have only one 3D printer - a MakerBot Thing-O-Matic (#003675), parts for an imaginary build, ideas and a REAL STRONG CRAVING to buy another. I'm like a dog with a bad case of fleas.
This post is for knowledge. I figure if I see what is going on - maybe (maybe?) I will satisfy my non-need for another bot with the excitement of your bot farms.
Survey Question is -
- What bots do you have?
- How many do you have?
- Are you designing and/or building your own?
- How long have you been into the 3D printing / prototyping?
- How extensively modified are your standard printers? Electronics, sliders, motors, carriages, extruders, hot ends, build plates, cases, power, ???
I know:
- non of my business. Yep, you are probably right.
- Asking too much. Yep, again. But, I'm very interested in what we are doing and very excited about what you guys/gals have for your equipment and activities.
- Go back under my rock! Uh, mmm, but, what is happening is too ground breaking - history making to ignore. These machines already belong in every museum across the country.
If we can get it listed in one spot we can pick and choose our directions for grouping and questioning which then makes us more efficient. And since we are open, it will allow all of us to maybe get more efficient with our question answers? Guess —- I don't know - just another excuse to find out what you all have.
