I got my TOM around mid December last year. I have gotten it to work in Feb. this year. I was using ReplicatorG0023, motherboard firmware v2.4 and extruder firmware v2.6. It works but usually does not start printing after the temperature reached the specified value(225C and 125C). I need to reset TOM or close ReplicatorG and run it again to make it start printing. It usually needs reset for many times to get it start printing. As long as it could start printing, it could finish printing perfectly.
Since it seems to be a bug that TOM did not start printing even if both temperature reached or over the specified temperature(225C and 125C), I downloaded ReplicatorG0026 and upgraded motherboard firmware to v2.81 and extruder firmware v2.8 last weekend. But as soon as I try to print, I found the problem. The TOM start printing as soon as the temperature reached (225C and 125C) but the Switching Power Supply was shut down just after 1 minute of printing. The whole TOM lost power. The switch on power supply could not turn it on. I had to pull out usb cable and pull power cable out of power bar and then plug in again to turn on the power supply.
I have tried to use control panel to monitor temperature and heat up the TOM. The same thing always happen. The TOM Power Supply was turned off not long after print head close to or reached 220C. I have tried ABP, it has not problem to keep 125C for a long time. But heating print head will cause the power lost issue.
I have checked wire connection, no any short cut. I have also tried to lie down the TOM and open the bottom to let power supply got enough air to cool down. No help. I have used IR temperature tester and found Extruder Controller has about 25C and Motherboard about 19C. The power supply unit has 25C for the air coming out from the fan. All the temperature seems to be normal but the power supply always being turned off after several minutes after it reached around 220C. I had ever see the temperature reached 227C and power may lost at any value above 215C. So there is no specific temperature value for the cutting point.
I did not change any hardware setting except upgraded the firmwares. So I am wondering if the new firmwares give the trouble? I tried to go back to the old firmware but I could not found it any more. The oldest firmware available is 2.7 Even if I use the old ReplicatorG0023, it still gives new firmware.
Anyone has the similar issue? And recommendations?
Thanks for your help!
