No problems with the actual build.
- I have not debugged the ABP conveyor belt not working. Other issues are higher priority. This may be lack of firmware support or build error (wiring or belt being too tight).
Areas for improvement: (none of these seem to be original)
- mass termination of wire groups/cables to simplify routing
- wires are semi-random lengths, some are too short, some too long
- some long cables can get in the way of platform XY and cause skipped steps
- some cables can get caught and restrain platform or Z movement
- MK7 has too much space between drive wheel and nozzle. End of filament followed by another gets jammed very easily. It's not difficult, but I've taken the extruder apart 3 times so far to fix the jam.
- I've realized that for Z-axis calibration and non-squished raft, I need the nozzle to be about 0.5 to 1mm above the ABP. Still calibrating this. No good raftless printing yet.
- Curl is still a big problem. Larger-than-whistle objects often fail because of curl and then nozzle bumping into warped object.
- I'm not sure that I have overall calibration right yet. Maybe I can find a good QA object to print that will assure me that everything is ok or will help diagnose anything that is off.
- It would be great to include a spool holder with the kit! Until the TOM builder has things working, they have to babysit the filament for hours in order to get a spool holder. Ultimaker has a laser-cut spool holder as part of the kit. That would be awesome for TOM.
- The extruder board has a separate USB connector that is not accessible without removing the bottom panel. It would be good to combine main shield with extruder board or make the extruder USB easily accessible without removing bottom panel.
