Howdy experienced makers of the web,
I'm a new owner of a feisty and tempermental Thing-o-matic, and I'm embarrased that my first post has to be one of failure but such things are innevitable.
I'll try my best to illustrate in words whats going on.
Scene :
Im making any circular/tubular structure verticaly.
Problem:
instead of a nice round circle. what I end up with is (starting from the top and moving clockwise)
Round for approximately 90 degees, then a slight edge that bows out then back in almost adding a slight concave or flattened side to the circle at that point. then 90 degrees later, its rounding again, and repeats the same anomily on the last 90degrees back to the start. This is prevalent in every shape I have in every model that has either an attempted perffect circle, or a hole for drilling.
Now the flat/bowed edges that appear literaly 180 deg across from eachother dont seem to land ontop of the point where either the extruder starts working its way back around in reverse, or where it steps up a notch, so thats just making the issue even more confusing.
Thanks for hearing me out, I hope someone out there has a clue on how to diagnose this further even if they dont know an absolute answer to this issue.
Hopefully in the future I can be posting something a bit more on the positive side.
